Along with the increasing reports of undocumented Filipinos in Malaysia, which often result to the arrest, deportation, violence and abuse of the victims, a strong representation of the Philippines needs to be established, through diplomatic ways, to huddle strong tie-up in combating Trafficking In Persons.

We fully utilize the formal and informal means of communication and transnational investigative cooperation. Recognizing the importance of cross-border cooperation to address transnational trafficking concerns, the WCPC coordinated with the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Smuggling Migrants or ATIPSOM, Criminal Investigation Department, and Royal Malaysian Police as the information provider on matters pertaining to the rescue of the trafficked victims in the backdoor of both countries. This cooperation has led to the rescue of the Filipino women who were held for debt bondage and sex trafficking in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia.
