In response to the rapid growth of online sexual exploitation of children and other forms of internet-facilitated sex trafficking, the WCPC has established the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) office. It was inaugurated and blessed on July 13, 2016 led by PDIR BENJAMIN MAGALONG, TADCO, PCSUPT AUGUSTO M MARQUEZ, TADIDM, PCSUPT ROSAURO V ACIO, C, WCPC and Atty. Samson Inocencio, National Director, International Justice Mission (IJM). The ICAC office, located at SIDD Bldg., PNPTS Compound, Camp Crame, Quezon City, is the immediate program of the PNP-WCPC to comply with the recommendations provided by the U.S. Department of State to the Philippines after it was upgraded to Tier 1 ranking in its 15th annual Trafficking in Persons report.
The establishment of the Internet Crimes Against Children was a breakthrough in our fights to combat Online Sexual Exploitation of Children (ICAC). It was made possible with our partnership with the International Justice Mission (IJM). Our personnel conducts intelligence gathering and online research regarding child exploitation emanating from the referrals of other foreign law enforcement agencies.
